The Supreme Court announced today that it has granted certification in In the Matter of James Hartnett, Pennsauken. The question presented, as phrased by the Supreme Court Clerk’s office, is “Did the Civil Service Commission err in denying petitioner’s automatic reinstatement request under the circumstances presented?” Those circumstances involved the issue of whether Hartnett had resigned or retired. A two-judge Appellate Division panel, in an unpublished per curiam opinion, affirmed the Commission’s ruling.
