Supreme Court Will Review Hill International, Inc. v. Atlantic City Bd. of Educ.

The Supreme Court announced this morning that it has granted review of the Appellate Division’s decision in Hill International, Inc. v. Atlantic City Bd. of Educ., 438 N.J. Super. 562 (App. Div. 2014).  The Appellate Division’s decision is discussed here, and it was suggested that this might be a case that was ripe for the Supreme Court to take up.  The question presented, as phrased by the Supreme Court Clerk’s Office, is “Did plaintiff’s failure to comply with the Affidavit of Merit statute (N.J.S.A. 2A:53A-26 to -29) — by not filing an affidavit from a ‘like-licensed’ professional– warrant dismissal of plaintiff’s complaint?”
