Judges Vanek and Vinci Are Temporarily Assigned to the Appellate Division

Chief Justice Rabner announced that Judges Christine Vanek and Robert Vinci are being temporarily assigned to the Appellate Division for the period of October 2- December 1, 2023. Judge Vanek will join Part B, while Judge Vinci will serve on Part A.

Apart from the fascinating (to some) fact that both judges’ names begin with “V,” here is some background on the two judges. Judge Vanek is a graduate of Rutgers University and New York Law School. Governor Christie appointed her to the Hudson County bench in 2014. She has sat in the Civil Division and in the Family Part. Before taking the bench, Judge Vanek was a partner at the law firm of Scarinci Hollenbeck, which she joined in 2000. While in private practice, she handled business and public entity litigation, as well as matters involving enforcement of the Uniform Construction Code. Her also experience includes service as Municipal Attorney for Union City.

Governor Christie appointed Judge Vinci, a graduate of Rutgers University and Rutgers-Camden Law School, to the bench in Bergen County in 2017. Since then, Judge Vinci has sat in the Criminal and Civil Divisions. Most recently, for the past few months, he has been assigned to General Equity. Before his judicial appointment, he was since 1995 an attorney at the firm then known as Drinker Biddle & Reath. Among other things, he handled insurance coverage disputes, product liability, professional liability, and land use matters.

Welcome, Judges Vanek and Vinci!
