Effective August 1, 2012, Judges Allison E. Accurso, Michael A. Guadagno, Michael J. Haas, and Susan F. Maven will be promoted to the Appellate Division. Judge Richard S. Hoffman will take a seat on the Appellate Division effective September 1, 2012.
Judge Accurso was appointed to the Superior Court in 2005. She has served in the Family Part in two different vicinages, held the title of Presiding Judge-Civil in a third vicinage, Somerset/Hunterdon/Warren, and then served as General Equity judge in that vicinage since 2009.
Judge Guadagno, also appointed to the Superior Court in 2005, sat in the Family Part in the Monmouth and Ocean vicinages. In 2010, he was named Presiding Judge of the Family Part in Monmouth County.
Judge Haas was named to the Superior Court in 2007. He has served in Burlington County in the Family and Criminal Parts.
Judge Maven was appointed to the Superior Court in 2001. She sat in the Family Part in Atlantic County, and then was reassigned to the Criminal Part in Cape May County in 2008. In 2010, she returned to Atlantic County, where she served in both the Family and Criminal Parts.
Judge Hoffman, named to the Superior Court in 2004, sat in the Family Part in Gloucester County before being moved to Salem County in 2006. He returned to the Gloucester County Family Part in 2008, and then, in 2010, took a seat in the Civil Part.
All five of the promoted judges were assigned temporarily to the Appellate Division earlier this year. Best wishes to all of them on this promotion to the nation’s busiest intermediate appellate court.
